I have officially found the best excuse for canceling plans, and it involves ducks. Specifically, six adorable ducks who need to try on their Halloween costumes. I’m sorry, but if someone invited me to dinner and I had a duck waiting at home to be dressed as a taco, I would absolutely be staying home. Some things are simply more important than having a social life.

These darling ducks are having their very own Halloween fashion show, and the costumes are SO ridiculously cute I can barely stand it. We’ve got a duck dressed as a bunch of purple grapes, another dressed as avocado toast, a tiny nurse with a stethoscope, a flower, a sushi roll, and my personal favorite, A TACO. A DUCK TACO. I would like to know who is responsible for making these tiny costumes because I need to shake their hand immediately.

The hilarious Halloween fashion show comes courtesy of TikTok account @dunkin.ducks, where six very fashionable ducks are showing off their spooky season looks.

First up is Jellybean, who is dressed as a bunch of purple grapes and looks like she’s ready to attend a very fancy vineyard party. Avocado Toast is, appropriately, dressed as avocado toast, complete with an adorable little slice of bread.

Bubbles is a nurse, and I would trust this duck with my life. Butterscotch is the taco, and I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen anything more delightful.

Honey is a pretty yellow flower, while Coconut is dressed as sushi, which seems like an unusual career choice for a duck, but I’m not here to judge.

The comments are almost as entertaining as the costumes.

“The taco has me dying over here!” one person wrote.

Another declared, “The sushi one is the best.”

One viewer was particularly impressed by the little nurse, commenting, “Hi, I’d like to make an appointment please?”

And someone else made an excellent observation: “They all look so innocent and calm and I know they must be anything but that.”

Honestly, I would watch an entire television series about these ducks getting dressed up for different holidays.

Do Ducks Make Good Pets?

After watching six ducks patiently model Halloween costumes, you might be wondering whether you need a few ducks of your own.

And while ducks can make wonderful pets, they’re definitely not as simple to care for as their adorable little faces might suggest.

Here are a few things to know before bringing home some feathered friends:

Ducks are social animals. They need the company of other ducks, so keeping just one isn’t a good idea.

They LOVE water. Ducks need constant access to clean drinking water deep enough to dip their heads in, plus opportunities to bathe and splash around.

They’re incredibly messy. If you think your dog makes a mess, wait until you meet a duck. Water and mud will become major parts of your life.

They need protection. Ducks require a secure outdoor enclosure and a safe place to sleep because predators are a serious concern.

They’re a long-term commitment. Domestic ducks can live for many years with proper care.

And while these particular ducks look perfectly comfortable modeling their Halloween outfits, costumes should never restrict a duck’s movement, breathing, or ability to stay cool. Dressing up should always be brief and supervised.

Personally, I think I would be a terrible duck parent because I would spend approximately 90 percent of my day trying to convince them to wear tiny hats.

But if anyone needs me this Halloween, I’ll be watching Butterscotch the taco duck on repeat. I have important business to attend to.
